If you schedule independent contractors here are some W2W features you may want to try.

Set the "Employee" label to say "Contractor" or "Worker"
Publish an "Open Schedule" and let contractors pick up open shifts "at will" or with manager approval
Let contractors add and edit their own shifts
Let contractors enter their own work time preferences and cannot work times
